Life and AD&D Insurance

Alliance Coal provides Basic Employee Life Insurance equal to two times (2x) your base annual pay. You can also choose to purchase the following optional insurance:

  • Optional Employee Life Insurance includes coverage options up to 8x base pay.
  • Spouse Life Insurance includes coverage options up to $250,000.
  • Child Life Insurance covers each of your children under age 21.
  • Employee Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance pays a benefit (in addition to any benefit paid by life insurance) if you die or are injured in an accident.
  • Spouse AD&D Insurance is also available if you elect Employee AD&D Insurance.

1Total Employee Life Insurance (Basic plus Optional) is limited to $2 million.
2To elect this coverage, you must also elect Optional Employee Life Insurance. Spouse Life Insurance cannot be greater than 50% of Total Employee Life Insurance (Basic plus Optional). For children age six months and under, Child Life Insurance coverage is $1,000.
3Employee AD&D Insurance is limited to $2 million.
4Spouse AD&D Insurance cannot be greater than 100% of Employee AD&D Insurance.

Disability Coverage

Disability benefits provide disability income to you for a period of time if you become disabled due to illness or injury and are unable to work. Currently you don’t have to pay a premium for disability coverage.
