My child is turning 26. What do I do?
Normal eligibility for Health Care Program coverage ends when the child reaches age 26. (Normal eligibility for child life insurance coverage ends when the child reaches age 21.)
If your child is disabled or would like to purchase COBRA coverage, contact your local HR representative to ensure continuous coverage prior to your child’s 26th birthday.
Otherwise, remove the individual from your Health Care Program coverage by completing and submitting an election form within 31 days of the child’s 26th birthday.
